Custom returnable systems for closed-loop lanes. Custom expendable packaging for one-way logistics. Engineered and built in Milwaukee since 1994.
Two paths. One PSi proven process
What it is
What is returnable and expendable packaging?
Returnable and expendable are two answers to the same question: how does my part get from the supplier to the destination without damage, at the lowest total cost, and on time?
Returnable packaging systems consistently make round trips. Expendable packaging ships once and protects the part. The right answer depends on volume, part value, packaging cost, lane predictability, and program lifecycle. Sometimes it is a mix of both.

Decision support
Returnable is right when:
High-volume, repeating lanes where the same parts move on a predictable cycle. High-value or cosmetic parts. Closed-loop supplier-to-plant logistics. Sustainability commitments requiring reusable systems.
Expendable is right when:
One-way logistics, lower volumes, or programs that change too often to lock in returnable tooling. Parts that ship to end customers via parcel or LTL. Acceptable damage tolerance for the part value.
Not sure which is right for your program? Same engineering rigor applies to either path.
Our approach
How it works
Study part and requirements
Returnable, develop loop size based on parts per day, month, container, dwell time and per truck. Expendable, parts per week/month. And shipping mode; TL, LTL or parcel.
Model in CAD
Container and dunnage geometry for returnable, carton and insert design for expendable. Both modeled around your part and requirements.
Engineer for the lifecycle
Engineer the right container, dunnage and material for returnable or expendable system, ensuring your parts are protected throughout the shipping environment (or supply chain).
Prototype and Validate
Full-scale prototype for you to validate and approve prior to implementation.
Production
Purchase order issued, production and implementation, according to agreed upon schedule.
